SELWAY RIVER ADVENTURES, IDAHO
whitewater rafting and fishing trips
Selway River Adventures offers 5 and 6 day whitewater trips on the Selway River
The Selway River is North America’s premiere wilderness whitewater trip, the technical whitewater will challenge even experienced rafters. The 38 named rapids many of which are rated Class IV such as Goat Creek, Double Drop, Ladle and Wolf Creek, come in quick succession. The river has an average gradient of 28 feet per mile which increases to over 50 feet per mile below Moose creek.
The Selway has a short runnable season, challenging whitewater and limited access. We offer 4 trips per year on this magnificent river. The Selway is a rare experience that any river enthusiast will surely enjoy.

A whitewater rafting trip down the Selway River is like no other trip in the United States. Selway River Adventures offers 5 and 6 day trips on Idaho’s jewel of a river which flows through the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. Our trips run for 47 miles from the Paradise Guard Station boat launch to the take out at Race Creek just above Selway Falls. The Selway is a nationally designated Wild and Scenic river which is regulated by the United States Forrest Service. Permits to float his section of river are limited to one group of no more the 16 people per day. This helps to maintain the wilderness qualities of the river corridor and provides a unique river experience found nowhere else in the country.
