Inspiring Others

In 2018 four friends from various whitewater backgrounds, each with a long history of guiding, commercial outfitting and private boating, came together to run the Selway River. They booked passage on one of their long time friend Kenny Masoner’s Whitewater Adventures.

Kenny

Kenny’s family was one of the first Idaho outfitters to be granted a permit on the Selway back in 1971 and the company has been managed and guided, first by Elwood Masoner and then by Kenny over the past 47 years. The experience of Kenny and his guide staff showed and these four friends had one of the best river trips of their lives. So much so that they made Kenny an offer for the company. Kenny recognized and admired the passion and desire these four men have for the Selway River and their enthusiasm to share this pristine wilderness experience with others. With a promise to provide a trip he would be proud of the deal was made.

We are honored to carry on the tradition of outfitting excellence that was created by the Masoner family. And we look forward to sharing the Selway River with you.

Lloyd Lamb

Born and raised at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains in Stanley, Idaho, Lloyd Lamb grew up digging in the dirt and playing in the creek. In 1998 while home for a visit he walked across the street to see about becoming a river guide. Hired on the spot, he began guiding day trips on the Salmon River. He enjoyed introducing guests to the river and soon moved on to guiding multi-day trips on the Middle Fork of the Salmon. Over the next several years Lloyd found himself rafting all over the United States but kept coming back home to Idaho. He found the Selway and fell in love. In keeping with his childhood passions, when he’s not on the river he runs his own excavation company. Digging in the dirt and playing in the creek never gets old.
